Fun and amazingly realistic,
Having first seen this product on youtube, I was immediately fascinated by this clever piece of technology. The mechanism seems simple enough, but the result – a fluttering butterfly in a jar – is amazingly realistic. The wire was not as transparent as I had hoped, yet nobody I have shown the butterfly to, has noticed it at first, leading them to believe I had captured an actual butterfly (in the middle of winter no less!)
The batteries that were included (3 AAA batteries) gave in rather quickly, although that might have been because the butterfly was activated a lot at first. Replacing them was not an easy task, since the battery compartment was sealed with a little screw that needed a very small screwdriver to open it – which I did not possess at the time. I eventually succeeded with a nail file.
On a side note, I live in Belgium, so I can confirm that this product can be shipped here.
Overall, I am still pleased with my purchase and I still enjoy watching my ever fluttering butterfly to remind me of summertime.
